My Lake
When silver wings spread across my lake
And airs so fresh each breath I take
My head grows numb and heart takes flight
As twilight gives away to night
And as I shake in natures clasp
My heart leaps up, my breath a gasp
The glowing moon then spins its’ spell
‘Tis much like Heaven and all is well.
Then comes the morn of sometimes mist
Alas! My heart cannot resist
I sit and watch and often stare
A duck swims oft to who knows where
The wake a V on a mirror ‘a shine
I know what I see is only mine
The shining sun now casts its’ spell
‘Tis much like Heaven and all is well.
